FAQ

How does the booking process work?

The first step is to reach out through my Contact page. I'll be in touch shortly, and together we'll start planning your session.

We'll discuss the best date, time, and location for your portraits. If you're not sure where you'd like your session to take place, I'm happy to recommend locations that fit your vision.

When you're ready to book, I'll send you a personalized booking link where you can review and sign your contract, pay your retainer, and officially reserve your session. The entire process only takes a few minutes.

Once you're on my calendar, I'm here to help! Whether you have questions about outfits, your horse, or anything else, you'll have my direct contact information and I'm always happy to talk things through.

As your session approaches, I'll check in to confirm all the final details so you can show up confident and ready to create beautiful images together!

I'm nervous. Will you tell me how to pose?

Absolutely! Almost everyone feels this way before their session, but don't worry! I'll guide you through flattering poses and adjustments every step of the way while also creating opportunities for candid moments.

You don't have to know what to do- that's my job!

What should I wear to my portrait session?

Wardrobe can elevate a beautiful session into an unforgettable one. Your outfit choices should reflect your personal style—the best outfit is always one that makes you feel comfortable, confident, and like yourself. You should never feel like you're wearing a costume.

Neutral colors and rich jewel tones photograph beautifully in natural settings. If your horse will be part of the session, you may also want to consider colors that complement their coat and create a cohesive look. Including pets? Consider coordinating leash and collar colors, as well.

In general, I recommend avoiding bold patterns, stripes, or neon colors unless that's the specific aesthetic you're going for. Solid colors and timeless pieces tend to photograph best and keep the focus on you.

Don't be afraid to incorporate jewelry, hats, layers, or interesting textures. These details add depth and personality to your images.

Not sure where to start? Pinterest is a wonderful source of inspiration, and I'm always happy to help! If you'd like a second opinion or guidance putting outfits together, just reach out or shoot me a picture. I'd love to help you create a look that photographs beautifully while still feeling authentically you.

How should I prepare my horse for my equestrian session?

A little preparation goes a long way toward creating a relaxed, enjoyable session for both you and your horse.

In the weeks leading up to your session, spend a little time introducing your horse to the areas where you'd like to be photographed. It's also helpful to practice standing quietly on grass without grazing for a few minutes at a time. The more familiar your horse is with these expectations, the more relaxed they'll be during the session.

A few days before your session, clean and condition the tack you plan to use, make sure it fits well, and try on the outfit(s) you plan to wear so there are no last-minute surprises.

On the day of your session, keep your horse's routine as normal as possible. Turnout or light exercise, a thorough grooming, and a full belly before we begin will help your horse feel comfortable and content. A happy horse will set your session up for success and a more enjoyable experience for everyone.

That said, horses are a lot like little kids—you never quite know what you're going to get once the camera comes out! We'll work through any wiggles, distractions, or big feelings together, adjusting poses and locations as needed.

No matter what the day brings, you'll walk away with beautiful images that celebrate the unique bond you share with your horse.

Do you provide horses for use during sessions?

While I don't personally provide horses for photoshoots, I partner with several stables throughout the DFW area that offer horse models specifically for portrait sessions. If you're interested, I'd be happy to recommend a stable, provide pricing information, and help coordinate the details to find the best fit.

What if there's rain or high winds on my scheduled date?

I watch the weather like it's my job (honestly, it sort of is!)... but this is Texas and the weather can be unpredictable to say the least.

Light cloud cover is often perfect for portraits, so don't worry if the forecast isn't full sunshine. However, if I believe the weather will compromise your safety or the quality of your images—such as heavy rain, high winds, or severe weather—I'll reschedule your session at no additional cost.

Do you offer payment plans?

Yes! I offer flexible payment options through Affirm and Klarna, allowing you to spread the cost of your session over time with convenient installment plans.

If you'd like to use either option, just let me know before booking, and I'll send your invoice accordingly. Please note that a small processing fee is added to invoices paid through Affirm or Klarna to cover the additional transaction costs.

Of course, you're also welcome to pay in full at the time of booking via credit card or bank transfer if you prefer.

Will there be additional costs after the session?

No. I offer transparent pricing.

Your session fee includes everything listed in your package, and you'll never be required to purchase additional images or products after your session. If applicable, any additional travel fees or payment plan fees will be clearly communicated before you book.

If I edit additional images—which I often do—they'll be included in your gallery at no extra cost.

If you'd like me to help you select or order professional artwork for your home, I'm always happy to do so, but there is absolutely no obligation or expectation to purchase anything beyond your session.

My goal is for you to enjoy the experience knowing exactly what to expect from start to finish.

How long does it take to get my photos?

Your fully edited gallery will be delivered to a private online gallery within 14 days of your session. As soon as it's ready, you'll receive a link via both text message and email, making it easy to view, download, and share.

I know you're excited to see your images, and I work hard to deliver your gallery as quickly as possible without compromising the quality and care that goes into each photograph.
